Started a new drawing yesterday

It has been a while since I can sit down to draw again. Strange that when I look back at all the works I have made, feels like I am running in a circles, round and round.... I haven't figure out why I am doing this, and maybe it is just me, like to go back to the old me

New set of paper ready to be working on

Last week, I sort of let my life stand still so I could concentrate on writting applications. in between the wondering time, I colored some paper, and cut some cutting into pieces so I am more ready to start working after the application is done.

A lovely set of autumn color. Could not wait to start working on them.

My kinfes

I received the new pack of paper cutting knifes, they come in with 8 different kinds of forms. I have only used one of them so far, it is the first one on the left and it works for me. I am exited to try what each of them can do, and what they are good for. maybe some of them will be become my next favourite cutting tools.

A snap shot

A snap shot I did the other day. I was siting on sofa and had my two legs on the table, suddenly I see the gap between my legs, my dark pants makes an interesting contrast with the background, it catches my eye.

Few words about Piet Monderian

Today, I happen to read these words from Mondrian, that I don't think I have read beofre, or maybe I did read them some time back but forgot.  The part he explains how he thinks when he try to compose lines in vertical and horizon, it was how I was thinking when I tried to draw my lines and triangles.

I know that we humans are like minded in many ways, still I am excited to see it when this happens.

Because in art, there are no answers for how to creat your own art,  it's never an easy road lay ahead. That is why it is always feels great to find a like-minded colleague, not to mention a great master in art history.

And here is  his words to Dutch art critic H.P. Bremmer via letter in 1914:

I construct lines and color combinations on a flat surface, in order to express general beauty with the utmost awareness. Nature (or, that which I see) inspires me, puts me, as with any painter, in an emotional state so that an urge comes about to make something, but I want to come as close as possible to the truth and abstract everything from that, until I reach the foundation (still just an external foundation!) of things … I believe it is possible that, through horizontal and vertical lines constructed with awareness, but not with calculation, led by high intuition, and brought to harmony and rhythm, these basic forms of beauty, supplemented if necessary by other direct lines or curves, can become a work of art, as strong as it is true.
